Chordeograph |
From his sound and perception research Gero Koenig has completed the prototype of the instrument "Chordeograph" after 5 years of continuous development. "Chordeograph" is about generating sounds based on arcaic means. Using "sliders" made of metal, wood and glass up to 37 strings are grinded and stimulated simultaneously. Different positions of the sliders respectively directions, angles and speeds determine the sonic possibilities that go beyond the sound spectrum of previous stringed instruments and their applications. Transforming from single tone over pulsating beats to sounds of orchestral dimensions Gero Koenig forms in his compositions a microcosm of flowing sound developments. sound examples [1] [2] [3] |
