chordeograph nenne ich ein von mir aus dem Klavier entwickeltes Instrument.
In der gleichnamigen Werkreihe bespiele ich dieses Instrument, indem
ich eine Ebene aus bearbeiteten kupferumsponnenen Klaviersaiten
mit Kantleisten aus verzinntem Stahlblech und anderen Materialien
streiche. Die dabei erzeugten Saiten - Teilschwingungen
fügen sich zu hochenergetischen Klängen zusammen,
von einfacher Tonalität bis zu mikrotonalen Tonverschmelzungen
und Klangfarb - Clustern. Dabei lege ich die Bewegungsabläufe
und/oder deren Position auf der Saitenebene mit graphischen Notationen
fest. Ein hinter die Saiten gespanntes Signallinienschema dient der Positionsbestimmung.
Abseits bekannter Genregrenzen lote ich diesen speziellen
Klangraum mit eigenen Spieltechniken aus.
chordeograph is the name of an instrument developed by me from the piano.
It is also the umbrella term for the series of compositions under the
same name. Knife-like objects made from steel and other materials are
used to bow the piano strings, which are wrapped round with finely spun
copper. Different oscillations using different string lengths melt into
highly energetic sounds ranging from simple tonality to microtonal clusters.
Through graphic notation I am able to systemize the different playing
movements and their positions on the strings. Using a concept which starts
outside the normal genre boundaries, I produce these sounds using my own
developed technics.
